Langris is the younger brother of Finral Roulacase, who was disowned by their family for lacking combat ability. This fuels Langris's intense rivalry with Finral, as he believes his brother's weakness brought shame to their house. In Their Own Story

Langris Vaude first appears during the Royal Knights Selection Exam arc. He is introduced as a captain of the Golden Dawn and a rival to his brother, Finral. During the exam, Langris faces Finral in a match and uses his Spatial Magic to dominate the fight, showing no mercy. He is ultimately defeated when Finral, with Asta's help, uses a new spell to counter Langris's attacks. After the battle, Langris is forced to confront his own arrogance and begins to reconsider his views on strength and family. Later, during the elf reincarnation arc, Langris is possessed by the elf Rill, but he is freed after the elves are defeated. Following these events, Langris starts to repair his relationship with Finral, showing a more humble and cooperative side.
