The Black Bull Base is the home of the Black Bulls squad, led by Captain Yami Sukehiro. It is where Asta was recruited after earning Yami's respect at the magic knight selection exam. The base has been the stage for pivotal moments, such as when Asta trained to better control his Black form at a volcano, and where he later received training from Nacht Faust to master Devil Union with Liebe. It is also where the squad gathered before traveling to the Spade Kingdom to battle the Dark Triad. The location symbolizes Yami's philosophy that true strength comes from protecting others, regardless of social standing or magical ability.

In Their Own Story

The Black Bull Base is where Asta first joined the Black Bulls alongside fellow newcomer Noelle Silva. It is where he completed missions assigned to him, such as exploring a dungeon where he acquired a second anti-magic sword. After the Underwater Temple mission, Asta's arms were crushed and cursed by Vetto, and he feared he might never wield his swords again. His squadmate Vanessa Enoteca went to the Forest of Witches to plead with the Witch Queen to heal him. Later, at the base, Asta learned to better control his Black form during training at a volcano. When the elves were reincarnated, Asta and Yuno fought the revived Licht. After the Spade Kingdom battle, Asta trained with the Ryuzen Seven in the Land of the Sun, then returned to the Clover Kingdom and gave the Black Bulls some of his anti-magic before assisting Yuno against Lucius.
